Barcelona suffer a crushing defeat in the Champions League match
Chelsea defeated Barcelona 3–0 in the fifth round of the main stage of the UEFA Champions League.
The match took place in London and ended with a 3–0 victory for the hosts. The first goal was an own goal scored by Jules Koundé (27th minute); Estêvan Willian (55th) and Liam Delap (73rd) also scored. From the 44th minute, the visitors played with ten men after Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo received a second yellow card and was sent off.

Chelsea now have ten points after five rounds and sit in fifth place. Barcelona, with seven points, are in 14th place. In the next round, on December 9, the Spanish club will host German side Eintracht, while the English team will visit Italian club Atalanta on the same day.
The 2026 Champions League final will be held on May 30, 2026, at the Ferenc Puskás Stadium in Budapest. The current Champions League title holder is French club PSG, who defeated Italian side Inter 5–0 in last year’s final.
