The QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center has analyzed the level of digitalization of government services for exporters and importers, reports Kazinform.

According to the study, 81% of all services related to foreign trade have already been digitized, while 19% are still provided on paper.

QazTrade officials announced that they plan to fully digitize the remaining services within three years.

The services to be digitalized include certificates of origin (CT-1, CT-2, CT-3, A, EAV, Original), testing protocols, expert evaluations, permits for transport through foreign territories, international truck weight certificates, and issuance of ATA Carnets.

Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration Zhanel Kushukova emphasized that coordination with neighboring countries is key to speeding up digitalization.

She noted that if neighboring countries continue to use paper-based systems, Kazakhstan would have to operate in parallel formats. Therefore, Kazakhstan encourages other Central Asian nations to join the digital transformation and even offers its own digital solutions free of charge to speed up the process.

In addition, the country is expanding its “CarGoRuqsat” electronic queue system, which already operates successfully at border crossings with China, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan.

The Ministry of Finance has also introduced artificial intelligence (AI) systems at customs posts, which compare customs declaration data with actual images of imported goods to automatically detect discrepancies. The system is currently under testing.
