Emirates to Equip All Planes with Starlink Internet

One of the world’s largest airlines, Emirates, officially announced plans to equip its entire fleet with high-speed internet via Starlink. This will allow all passengers to access the internet for free during flights, regardless of travel class or Skywards membership.

According to Emirates, its entire fleet of 232 aircraft will be equipped with Starlink within two years. The technology was first tested on a Boeing 777 and showcased at the Dubai Airshow. Going forward, the airline plans to install Starlink on 14 planes per month, and starting February next year, begin equipping Airbus A380 aircraft.

Internet Will Be Available to All Passengers

During the flight, passengers can connect to the internet:

  • via their smartphones,

  • via laptops,

  • as well as via seat-back devices.

Starlink connectivity will allow passengers to:

  • use social media,

  • watch videos,

  • play games,

  • make video and audio calls,

  • work online during the flight.

This move positions Emirates as one of the global leaders in providing high-quality in-flight internet services.
