Fifth-generation 5G mobile connectivity has been launched in Turkmenistan’s national tourist zone of “Awaza.” The high-speed internet network, deployed ahead of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), was used during international events and continues to serve visitors to the coastal resort area.
The introduction of 5G technology is part of ongoing efforts to develop modern telecommunications infrastructure in “Awaza” and expand the capabilities of digital services. The new network provides additional opportunities for high-speed data transmission, improved internet connection stability, and access to modern online services.
The modernization of communications infrastructure and the introduction of advanced technologies are being carried out by the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan. Efforts in this area are aimed at expanding digital connectivity across different regions of the country, improving service quality, and creating conditions for the public to benefit from modern technologies.
Despite the conclusion of the international events, the 5G network continues to operate in “Awaza.” This enables holidaymakers to access high-speed mobile internet, use digital services, stay in touch with their loved ones, and share their travel experiences.
The launch of the fifth-generation mobile network contributes to the development of “Awaza” not only as a venue for international events but also as a tourist destination equipped with modern digital infrastructure.
Measures to develop the digital economy, modernize the communications system, and widely introduce advanced technologies in the country are being implemented under the leadership of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as on the basis of initiatives put forward by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
