Turkmenistan’s national mobile operator, Altyn Asyr Closed Joint-Stock Company, is preparing to carry out a major modernization of its network infrastructure and technical equipment. The relevant proposals were approved at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held on 17 October 2026.

At the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Bayram Annayev presented a report on measures being taken to purchase high-tech equipment and expand cooperation with leading international companies developing digital solutions.

The modernization project is aimed at increasing the capacity of the mobile network, steadily expanding 4G coverage across all regions of the country, and creating the technical foundation required to introduce new digital services.

The planned modernization is expected to improve the quality of mobile services, strengthen network stability, and expand the capabilities of digital services.
