In September, the city of Ashgabat will host the 111th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Important issues related to ensuring transport security in international freight transport and introducing high technologies into production will be discussed within the framework of the high-level meeting.
Information on preparations for this international forum was presented at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, special attention will be paid to the Plan for Implementing the Strategy for Ensuring Transport Security in the Territories of CIS Member States in International Transport Operations for 2026–2030. The document will be discussed in detail during the closed session of the meeting.
The main areas of the plan are expected to include strengthening security along international logistics corridors, increasing the reliability of transport links, and developing cooperation in this area among CIS countries.
In the expanded format of the meeting, the activities of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology, and Certification will be discussed. In addition, the draft Concept for Developing Cooperation among CIS Countries in Producing Promising Materials for High-Tech Industries will be considered.
Currently, ensuring the security of international transport corridors and using innovative technologies in production are among the key areas of interregional economic cooperation. The meeting of the CIS Economic Council to be held in Ashgabat will be aimed at further developing interstate interaction in these areas.
For Turkmenistan, increasing the efficiency and security of international transport corridors, as well as expanding production relations based on modern technologies, is of great importance for developing the country's international transport and logistics potential.
