New opportunities for cooperation in equestrian sports and international tourism routes between Turkmenistan and Pakistan were discussed. These issues were comprehensively addressed during the meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Atajan Movlamov, with the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Tourism and National Coordinator, Head of the "Centaurus Group" of companies, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan.

At the meeting held in Islamabad, the potential of the equestrian sector and tourism in developing cultural and humanitarian relations between the two countries was specially noted. In this context, the importance of promoting Turkmenistan's national horse breeding traditions, Akhal-Teke horses, and equestrian culture at the international level was emphasized.

During the meeting, it was underscored that special significance is attached to the national equestrian heritage in the year of celebrating the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence. Views were also exchanged on the significance of the first World Championship of Akhal-Teke horses, to be held in the Netherlands on September 4–6, 2026.

A representative of Pakistan's major business circles expressed interest in establishing closer cooperation with Turkmenistan in the fields of horse breeding and tourism. In particular, it was proposed to develop direct contacts between specialized agencies and equestrian organizations of the two countries, hold joint events, establish experience exchange among specialists, and create new tourist routes.

The parties noted that along with equestrian sports, the development of equestrian tourism can also contribute to strengthening cultural ties between the two countries and expanding tourism potential.

The outcomes of the meeting demonstrate the growing interest of Turkmenistan and Pakistan in developing traditional friendly relations in new areas, widely promoting the national equestrian heritage internationally, and implementing new mutually beneficial initiatives in the tourism sector.
