Decree of the President of Turkmenistan On conferring the honourary title «Türkmenistanyň at gazanan halyçysy»

In the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, effective measures are being taken in our country to carefully preserve, improve and convey to descendants national values, which is of great importance in the development of the ancient art of carpet weaving, which is an integral part of the universal cultural heritage.

The art of carpet weaving is a unique contribution of the Turkmen people to the treasury of human civilisation. Significant work in this area is carried out by our women and girls who weave world-famous carpets with a rich colour composition. Skilled carpet weavers are worthy of recognition and honour at the state level.

For great merits in the development of the national art of carpet weaving in the independent neutral Fatherland, in glorifying in the world the unsurpassed beauty and filigree execution of Turkmen carpets, which are the pride of our people, in decorating carpets with artistic ornaments, taking into account conscientious, selfless work over many years and professionalism, and also on the occasion of the Turkmen Carpet Day, I decree:
