Entrepreneur Elon Musk has announced that he plans to give one share of SpaceX to every child in the United States in 2027. He made the announcement in a post on his social media platform X. However, the entrepreneur did not provide further details about how the initiative would be implemented.

As of October 19, 2026, one share was valued at $146.03. At the exchange rate set by the Central Bank for that day, this was equivalent to approximately 12,200 rubles. According to CNBC, the United States had 72 million children under the age of 18 as of July 1, 2025. Based on the share price at that time, giving one share to every child could bring the total value of the gifts to approximately $10.5 billion.

In July 2025, US President Donald Trump said that Elon Musk could donate company shares to children's savings accounts in the country. These accounts have been in operation since July 2025 and are available for children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028. Each account receives a deposit of $1,000. The funds remain inaccessible until the child reaches adulthood, after which they can use the money as they wish. At the time, Musk had no specific plans to participate in the programme.

In December 2025, Dell founder Michael Dell and his wife, Susan, also announced plans to contribute funds to investment accounts for American children. The support is intended for children under the age of 10 who live in households with annual incomes below $150,000. In addition, chipmaker Micron agreed to allocate $250 million to the programme.
