A new public administration system is taking shape in Kazakhstan in connection with the establishment of the position of vice president. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that the name of the person to be appointed to the vice-presidential post will be announced within the next week or 10 days.

The Head of State made this remark while answering journalists' questions after voting in the parliamentary elections at the Palace of Independence in Astana. Tokayev noted that it would be premature to name the identity of the vice president yet, expressing expectations that a well-known and widely recognized figure in society would be appointed to this position.

According to the president, the creation of the vice-presidency is one of the important transformations envisaged in the country's new Constitution. He emphasized that under current international and domestic conditions, having such a position in the public administration system is necessary.

The new vice president will be appointed by the Head of State. At the same time, his candidacy must be approved by the deputies of the country's new unicameral parliament, the Kurultai.

Tokayev also gave a high assessment to the Kurultai elections held in Kazakhstan. He called these elections the beginning of a new stage in the country's development and noted that important reforms are being implemented in the state.

In the president's view, Kazakhstan has already achieved a number of significant results. Nevertheless, to achieve the set goals, it is necessary to continue the reforms.

The establishment of the vice-presidency is presented as one of the important innovations implemented within the framework of recent constitutional reforms in Kazakhstan's public administration system.
