An August meeting of education workers held in Ashgabat discussed the main priorities for the new academic year, including the development of inclusive education and the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into the educational process.

The August meeting, held at Magtymguly Turkmen State University, identified the key tasks facing the education system for the 2026–2027 academic year. Alongside improving teaching methods and updating curricula, expanding inclusive education and integrating the capabilities of artificial intelligence into the education system were among the main issues discussed.

Particular attention was paid at the meeting to creating an accessible educational environment that provides every child with equal opportunities to receive an education. As part of the inclusive education system, work is being carried out in schools across the country to create the necessary conditions for children to study together regardless of their physical, intellectual, language or other individual characteristics.

Work in this area is also combined with humanitarian initiatives that contribute to the active participation of children with special needs in school life and society. Activities implemented with the support of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation also play an important role in this area.

The meeting also placed particular emphasis on developing digital technologies and using artificial intelligence in the education system. Within the framework of Turkmenistan’s Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education for 2026–2052, the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into educational and scientific activities is identified as one of the promising areas.

In cooperation with international experts, opportunities are being studied to use artificial intelligence algorithms to adapt educational programmes to students’ individual needs, develop young people’s scientific and project activities, and improve the effectiveness of teachers’ work.

Thus, in the new academic year, one of the key priorities of the Turkmen education system will be the introduction of modern teaching methods, expansion of an inclusive educational environment, and effective use of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence.
