Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the new GT SUV electric crossover, equipped with three electric motors producing up to 1,153 horsepower. The model is expected to go on sale in the United States in summer 2027. The company has not yet announced the vehicle’s price.

According to The Verge, the GT SUV is the first full-size crossover independently developed by Mercedes-Benz. The new model will be offered in three versions: the GT 53, GT 55 and GT 63. The most powerful version, the GT 63, can accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h (60 mph) in just 2.4 seconds.

The GT 55 and GT 63 versions are equipped with a 128 kWh battery and can support charging power of up to 710 kW. Both models feature three electric motors: one on the front axle and two on the rear axle. To improve energy efficiency, the front electric motor can also be switched off.

The GT 53 version uses two electric motors and a 106 kWh battery.

According to the company, charging the battery from 10 to 80 percent takes just 12 minutes. With 10 minutes of charging, the GT 53 can gain enough energy for approximately 380 kilometres of driving, while the GT 55 and GT 63 can gain enough for nearly 450 kilometres. The GT 63 has a maximum range of up to 700 kilometres on a single charge.

The vehicle’s interior features a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch central display. The MB.OS operating system will support AI agents from ChatGPT, Microsoft and Google.

In April 2026, Mercedes-Benz unveiled an electric version of the C-Class sedan, followed by the AMG GT electric car in May. Both models are expected to go on sale in early 2027.
