Ahead of the opening of the international conference and exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan — OGT 2026,” delegations arriving to attend the forum visited the country’s historical and cultural monuments. As part of the tourism programme, visits were organized to Ancient Nisa, the National Museum of Turkmen Carpet and the landmarks of Ashgabat.

At the Ancient Nisa historical and cultural site, guests learned about the city’s history, archaeological significance and architectural features.

At the National Museum of Turkmen Carpet, forum participants explored the rich heritage of Turkmen carpet weaving, the distinctive features of national patterns and the craftsmanship of women carpet weavers. The guests paid particular attention to the traditional decorative and applied arts of the Turkmen people, which have been passed down since ancient times.

During the tour of Ashgabat’s landmarks, the delegations visited the Independence Monument and discovered other notable sites in the capital.

The cultural programme, held ahead of the main forum, gave international guests an opportunity to gain a broader understanding of Turkmenistan’s history and culture and to exchange views in an informal setting outside official meetings.

The international conference and exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan — OGT 2026” will take place in Ashgabat from 21 to 23 October 2026.
