The Turkmenistan U-17 youth national team will face the national teams of Yemen, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and the Northern Mariana Islands in the qualifying tournament for the 2027 Asian Cup.

The draw for the qualifying round took place at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A total of 35 teams participated, divided into seven groups of five teams each.

The Turkmenistan national team was placed in Group F. The matches of this group will be held in a single-round format in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, from November 8 to November 20, 2026.

Turkmenistan's opening match of the qualifying tournament will take place on November 8 against the host team of Kyrgyzstan. A second-round fixture against the youth team of Mongolia is scheduled for November 14. After playing against the Northern Mariana Islands on November 17, the Turkmen players will play their final qualifying match against Yemen on November 20.

The line-ups for the other qualifying groups have also been determined. Group A includes Indonesia, Myanmar, Afghanistan, the Philippines, and Cambodia. Group B features Thailand, Iraq, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, and the Maldives.

Group C features the national teams of the United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Syria, Bhutan, and Macau. Group D includes Iran, Laos, Jordan, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Group E consists of India, Malaysia, Palestine, Singapore, and Guam. Group G is made up of Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, and Brunei.

Following the qualifying tournament, the winners of the seven groups will earn the right to compete in the final stage of the Asian Cup. The final phase of the competition will be held from May 12 to 29, 2027, in Uzbekistan.

In the final stage, the seven teams advancing through qualifications will join the nine national teams that earned direct entry based on the results of the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Among them are Australia, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. The Japan national team participates as the current champion of Asia.

The Turkmenistan U17 national team is being prepared for the Asian Cup qualifiers by a coaching staff led by head coach Azat Muhadow. Under his leadership, the Turkmen team finished fourth among five teams at the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Championship held in Uzbekistan this April.
