Ahead of Remembrance Day, marked in Turkmenistan on October 6, memorial prayers for the departed were held at the Arkadagyň Ruhy Metjidi mosque in the city of Arkadag. The prayers took place during a working visit by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. He noted that this day is an occasion to pay tribute to the departed and pray for the well-being of the people and the country.
The chief imam of the mosque, Ya. Khojagulyev, recited prayers for the repose of souls, the country's prosperity, and the health of the state leadership. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty emphasized that honoring the memory of ancestors is the foundation of a bright future. The grand mosque is designed for 30,000 worshippers and includes a sadaka hall for 1,500 people.
