Preparations for the cotton harvesting season are intensifying in the Halaç etrap of Lebap velayat. In the year marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence, local cotton growers are preparing to harvest the crop ripening in the fields promptly and without losses.

According to the website Lebap.biz, in the Magtymguly daikhan association, the 1,313 hectares of land planted with cotton have been distributed among 141 tenants, who are united into 17 groups. The tenants are working diligently to obtain a high yield, properly carrying out agrotechnical measures throughout the season.

Leading tenants of the farm — Merdan Hudayberdiyev and Azat Yazmyradow — achieved good results last year by producing over 43 centners of cotton per hectare. This year, they are working with the goal of exceeding 45 centners per hectare in yield.

Necessary agrotechnical operations were carried out in the cotton fields, such as inter-row cultivation, fertilizing with mineral dressings, and establishing water supply. In these tasks, mechanizers from the "Obahyzmat" production enterprise are providing close assistance to the farmers.

These days, as preparations are underway for the start of cotton harvesting on September 9, labor momentum is increasing in Halaç etrap. Farmers aim to gather the grown crop with high quality and contribute to the successful fulfillment of production plans.
