Key Requirements & Steps:
Official Permit: Animals cannot cross the border without an export permit issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
Required Documentation: Applicants must submit a passport copy, a three-language list (Turkmen, English, Russian) specifying the species and quantity, a veterinary certificate from the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture, a registration certificate with photos and characteristics, and proof of domestic breeding or legal capture.
Timeline & Validity: Permit applications are processed within 30 calendar days, with written notification provided within 3 working days of approval. The issued permit is valid for 30 days and must be returned within 10 working days if unused.
Transport & Inspection: Pets must be transported in safely equipped carriers and cleared exclusively through designated veterinary checkpoints at the Turkmen state border. Special approvals apply for species listed in the Red Data Book of Turkmenistan.
