The final round of the creative competition titled “Skilled Generation — Bright Future” was held in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. The event was dedicated to 2026, celebrated under the motto “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan — the Homeland of Swift Horses and High Aspirations,” and the 31st anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. The competition was organized among girls’ clubs operating in the country’s general secondary schools, with the aim of increasing schoolgirls’ interest in handicrafts and developing their creative skills.

The competition was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Central Council of the Women’s Union of Turkmenistan, the National Centre of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, and the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography.

The main objective of the competition was to develop schoolgirls’ skills in creating handicrafts that require considerable effort, patience and craftsmanship, while also strengthening their interest in national decorative and applied arts.

The national traditions and customs shaped over centuries, family values, moral principles, mutual respect, learning a craft and working honestly are all essential to educating the younger generation. These noble principles, inherited from our ancestors and foremothers, continue to retain their importance today.

In an era of scientific and technological advancement, it is particularly important to raise young people with respect for their national heritage, a strong work ethic and a creative spirit. Competitions of this kind help reveal schoolgirls’ abilities, foster their interest in handicrafts and ensure the continuity of national traditions.
