Training seminars dedicated to renewable energy sources and innovative technologies were held at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan (TDEI). Specialists and professors from Germany’s Clausthal University of Technology took part in the sessions entitled “Integration of Renewable Energy Sources” and “Practical Applications of Artificial Intelligence.”

The seminars were organized under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and Clausthal University of Technology. Their implementation was supported by the project of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), “European Union for the Green Development of Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action for 2024–2029.”

The main objective of the events was to enhance the knowledge and skills of specialists and students in integrating renewable energy sources into energy systems, using geothermal energy, biomass and hydrogen technologies, and exploring the practical capabilities of artificial intelligence.

During the seminars, German experts exchanged experience with the institute’s lecturers, young specialists and students. Over the two-day training sessions, participants discussed issues related to energy system modelling, electricity pricing and converter technologies. Detailed explanations were provided on the relevant topics.

The seminars are intended to deepen knowledge of modern technologies, including green energy and artificial intelligence, promote the study of international experience, and strengthen scientific and educational cooperation between higher education institutions in Turkmenistan and Germany.
