Raw materials derived from Turkmenistan’s medicinal plants are attracting demand in foreign markets. The latest example was a deal concluded during trading at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan on October 13.

Following the exchange trading session, one transaction valued at US$14,850 was registered. Under the contract, Hong Kong business representatives purchased dried, unpeeled licorice root and its rhizomes from Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Health and Medical Industry.

The deal demonstrates that natural raw materials derived from Turkmenistan’s medicinal plants are attracting interest from foreign partners. Exporting such products also creates opportunities for domestic producers to expand their connections in international markets.

The transaction conducted through the exchange represents an important step toward developing trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Hong Kong’s business community, as well as strengthening the position of Turkmen products in overseas markets.
