Turkmen sports specialist Charygeldi Mammedow has been elected as the vice-president of the newly established Central Asian Weightlifting Federation.

This decision was made at an organizational meeting held in Uzbekistan during the Asian Youth and Junior Championships to establish the Central Asian regional federation of the Asian Weightlifting Federation.

As a result of the meeting, Uzbekistan representative Shahrillo Mahmudow was elected president of the newly formed federation. Charygeldi Mammedow, General Secretary of the National Weightlifting Federation of Turkmenistan and an international-category referee, was appointed as its vice-president.

The establishment of the Central Asian Weightlifting Federation is one of the important steps in developing this sport in the region, strengthening cooperation between countries, and expanding the exchange of experience between athletes and specialists.

The election of the Turkmen specialist to the leadership of the new regional organization serves as an indicator of trust in his experience and professional level in the field of international sports.

In his new position, Charygeldi Mammedow is wished success in contributing to the development of weightlifting in Central Asia, strengthening international cooperation, and further raising the prestige of Turkmen sports.
