On August 31, a delegation from Turkmenistan attended the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games, held at the "Bishkek Arena" stadium in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

The opening ceremony was attended by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, as well as high-level representatives from member and partner states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the event.

This year's World Nomad Games bring together 2,355 athletes, coaches, and delegation members from 106 countries around the world. The competition program features over 40 national sports.

The 6th World Nomad Games are held in Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 6. The opening and closing ceremonies take place in Bishkek, while the main competitions are organized in the Issyk-Kul Region.

Turkmen national wrestling (guresh) is also included in the competition program. This international sports event, alongside promoting the national traditions, culture, and sports heritage of various peoples on a global scale, contributes to strengthening friendly relations among states.
