Turkmenistan’s national weightlifting team is heading to Ningbo, China, to take part in the World Weightlifting Championships. This major international competition, scheduled to run from October 27 to November 8, 2026, is of great importance to the athletes. The official qualification process for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles begins as part of the championship.

The Turkmen delegation consists of 11 athletes and three experienced coaches. Competing against some of the world’s strongest weightlifters, the Turkmen athletes will be vying not only for medals but also for the qualification points required to secure participation in the Olympic Games.

The World Championships in Ningbo will be one of the national team’s most important tests of the year. The competition will provide the athletes with an opportunity to demonstrate their physical fitness, technical skills, and overall level of team preparation.
