A meeting of the heads of writers' unions and representatives of literary circles from TÜRKSOÝ member states was held in the city of Andijan, Uzbekistan. Organized in Andijan, which holds the honorary title of the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" for 2026, the event aimed to further strengthen literary and cultural ties among Turkic peoples.

The meeting was jointly organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOÝ), the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, and the khokimiyat of Andijan Region.

The meeting, held in the building of the Andijan Region khokimiyat, featured speeches by TÜRKSOÝ leadership, representatives of writers' unions from various countries, writers, and poets. Akmyrat Rejebov, Deputy Head of the Department of Creative Workers of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, attended the event as the representative of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, participants discussed opportunities for developing creative ties among writers and poets of the Turkic peoples. They put forward new initiatives on preserving the shared literary heritage, passing it on to the younger generation, and widely promoting it to the global community.

Particular attention was paid to proposals regarding the creation of a unified digital literary platform of the Turkic world, an electronic library, and an information system on writers. The issue of more broadly promoting the rich literary heritage of Turkic peoples in the international arena through the translation of literary works into various languages, including world languages, was also discussed.

The meeting highlighted the importance of jointly participating in international book fairs, literary festivals, and other cultural events. In addition, views were exchanged on the work plan of the TÜRKSOÝ Writers' Union for 2027. Proposals were advanced to regularly hold creative festivals for young poets and organize international literary forums with the participation of master writers and translators.

As part of the events, a scientific-practical conference dedicated to the life and work of the prominent Turkish poet and public figure Ziya Gökalp was also held at the Andijan State Medical Institute. This event was organized in connection with TÜRKSOÝ declaring 2026 as the "Year of Ziya Gökalp."

At the end of the conference and the writers' meeting, several participants were awarded Certificate of Gratitude from the Writers' Union of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting in Andijan once again demonstrated that the shared cultural and literary values of the Turkic peoples continue to serve as an important bridge bringing peoples closer together in the modern era. The participants noted that, guided by the principle of "Literary Friendship is Eternal Friendship," they attach great importance to the continued and consistent development of creative cooperation in the Turkic world.
