
On March 30, 2026, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Mahri Bashimova, and the Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna. During the meeting, the parties discussed important areas of cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects in the fields of education, social protection, and sustainable development.
Special significance was attached to the joint implementation of tasks arising from the UNICEF Country Programme for Turkmenistan for 2026–2030.
The parties also exchanged views on the development of pre-school education.
Furthermore, issues related to the development of the social work system were discussed, including professional training, the creation of new jobs, and the improvement of institutional mechanisms.
The importance of adopting the National Strategy on Early Childhood Development for 2026–2030 was emphasized.
In addition, the parties discussed the implementation of projects to develop inclusive education infrastructure, as well as the preparation of the National Programme on Child Protection and Child Justice.
