Youth representatives of Turkmenistan, as part of a delegation from Central Asian countries, are participating in a study program in India from March 24 to April 2, 2026. During the visit, they are traveling to three cities — Mumbai, Goa, and New Delhi — to meet with government officials and visit the country's leading scientific and cultural institutions.
In Mumbai, program participants familiarized themselves with the operations of the Bombay Stock Exchange and visited the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Bombay), one of the world's premier engineering schools. The cultural segment of the Mumbai program included tours of the Elephanta Caves, the Gateway of India, and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum, as well as an excursion to the Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari film studio. Additionally, a meeting was held with the Governor of Maharashtra state.
On March 28, the delegation visited the state of Goa. The day's itinerary included a visit to Aguada Fort in Sinquerim, a 17th-century Portuguese fortress on the Arabian Sea coast, followed by leisure time at Calangute or Baga beaches. On the preceding day, the young representatives viewed the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral, both UNESCO World Heritage sites.
In the coming days, a visit to the National Institute of Oceanography in Dona Paula is planned. There, the delegation will be introduced to India's initiatives in marine research and the "blue economy," and will also meet with the Governor of Goa.
The final phase of the program will take place in New Delhi. Meetings are scheduled with India's Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Minister of External Affairs, along with interactions with participants of the "Mera Yuva Bharat" youth program and a tour of Humayun's Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
This program is carried out as part of the youth diplomatic exchange between India and Central Asian countries, aimed at strengthening humanitarian ties in the fields of technology, science, culture, and entrepreneurship.
