President of Turkmenistan Awarded Jubilee Medal on the 30th Anniversary of Neutrality
The Mejlis of Turkmenistan has adopted a resolution to award President Serdar Berdimuhamedov the jubilee medal “Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygynyň 30 ýyllygyna” (“On the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality”) and a set of commemorative insignia. This was reported by TDH.
“In connection with the International Day of Neutrality, the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, and in accordance with Article 81 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan resolves to award the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Gurbanguliyevich Berdimuhamedow, with the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan ‘On the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality’ and a set of commemorative badges,” the statement reads.
The resolution notes that the head of state is honored for his great personal contribution to strengthening Turkmenistan’s independence, sovereignty, and permanent neutrality status, for enhancing the country’s international authority, and for developing its “open door” foreign policy and the doctrine “Dialogue is a guarantee of peace.”
The award is also linked to the promotion of initiatives aimed at ensuring peace, security, and sustainable development in the region and the world, as well as the implementation of Turkmenistan’s neutrality potential in political, diplomatic, economic, socio-cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
The decision was made based on numerous proposals from representatives of the people, public organizations, labor collectives, and citizens of Turkmenistan during the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Description of the Medal
The jubilee medal is shaped as an octagon with gilded edges, with gilded elements representing rays of the sun placed between the corners. The overall diameter of the medal is 44 mm.
At the center, against the background of a globe, is a green enamel map of Turkmenistan, the Roman numeral “XXX” symbolizing the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality, the State Flag of Turkmenistan and the UN Flag connected by an image of a poplar tree, as well as a falcon with outstretched wings.
The medal is attached to a ribbon bar shaped like a flag, 30 mm wide and 20 mm high, covered in green enamel. The bar displays five Turkmen carpet göls, two olive branches, and a crescent with five stars.
The medal is made of gilded 925 sterling silver. The medal bar, measuring 24 mm by 10 mm, is made of a copper-nickel alloy.
