The Success of a Young Athlete

Our young athlete Leili Yusupova achieved remarkable success at the 3rd Asian Games held in Bahrain, winning 6 international-level medals among Turkmen athletes.

Leili Yusupova, an 11th-grade student at the 21st Specialized Secondary School in Turkmenabat, won a bronze medal in wrestling, making a valuable contribution to the team’s overall achievements. Her success became a meaningful gift dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality.

Leili led the victories of our national team, becoming the first Turkmen athlete to win a medal in the early days of the tournament, which gathered participants from 45 countries around the world.

Competing in the 52 kg weight category, her triumph, achieved under the guidance of international master of sports Shirin Kubayeva and Honored Coach of Turkmenistan Rejepbay Ashyrov, reflects the successful efforts to develop high-level sports in our country.

For the past three years, Leili has remained the national champion in her weight category. Her current international victory marks her third global success.

This year, she also won bronze medals at the International Junior Central Asian Tournament held in Uzbekistan and at the Asian Wrestling Championship in the Republic of Korea.

We believe that Leili Yusupova will continue to reach even greater heights and achieve more success for her country in the future.
