Turkmen weightlifters won 12 medals at international competitions in Tehran
From November 26 to 30, 2025, the international weightlifting competition is being held in Tehran, the capital of Iran, where the Turkmenistan national team is successfully competing. Turkmen athletes have already won 12 medals, including 8 gold and 4 bronze.
In the 60 kg weight class, Seyitjan Mirzayev demonstrated a brilliant result. He won both the snatch and clean and jerk, lifting a total of 274 kg and winning three gold medals.
In the 71 kg weight class, Bunyad Rashidov also demonstrated outstanding preparation. The Turkmen athlete lifted a total of 315 kg and won a full set of gold medals in his weight class. Gaygysyz Tyoreyev, competing in the 79 kg weight class, took bronze in the snatch, but also won convincingly in the clean and jerk and the combined total. His final result of 332 kg earned him two more gold medals.
In the 88 kg weight class, Ramazan Tyoreyev took third in the clean and jerk and the combined total, winning two bronze medals. His compatriot Galkan Rahmanov won bronze in the snatch in the same weight class.
A total of 37 athletes from eight countries are participating in the competition. The Turkmen team has demonstrated strong results and continues to compete for more awards.
