Turkmenistan’s national football team confidently defeated Chinese Taipei — 3:1

The Turkmenistan national football team won 3:1 against Chinese Taipei in the 5th qualifying match of the AFC Asian Cup 2027, held in our country. The Group “D” match took place today — 18 November — at the “Arkadag” Stadium.

Röwshen Meredov’s team started the game actively, and already in the 13th minute, Rahman Myratberdiyev put Turkmenistan ahead with an accurate shot. At the end of the first half — in the 45+2 minute — the visitors equalized the score through Ange Samuel.

In the second half, Turkmenistan regained control of the match. In the 53rd minute, Elman Tagayev brought the home team back into the lead. The final goal of the match was scored in the 79th minute by Meylis Diniyev — 3:1.

In the parallel match of the group, Thailand’s national team confidently beat Sri Lanka away — 4:0.

After 5 rounds, Turkmenistan and Thailand share first place in Group “D” with 12 points each. Sri Lanka is next with 6 points, while Chinese Taipei remains in last place with no points.

It should be noted that Turkmenistan’s final group match will be played away against Thailand on 31 March 2026.
