Working Visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Mary Province
Honorable President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to Mary Province, where he became acquainted with the progress of seasonal agricultural works and the large-scale activities carried out within the framework of the National Rural Development Program. The Head of State chaired a working meeting with the participation of leaders of the agricultural sector. The meeting discussed issues related to the development of the sector and ongoing scientific research.
Socio-economic development of the regions is one of the priority directions of the state policy pursued by the Honorable President. Currently, large-scale reforms are being implemented across the country to modernize the national economy, including the agricultural sector. This contributes to increasing labor efficiency and improving the living standards of the population. In the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, as throughout the country, major transformations aimed at the harmonious development of all components of the agricultural sector are being carried out in Mary Province.
At the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev presented a report on the work carried out by the Scientific Research Institutes of Grain Production, Crop Production, and Cotton Production, particularly on measures to scientifically advance farming and seed production. It was noted that successful implementation of these measures will help increase crop yields, introduce innovative technologies and modern practices, and ensure food abundance in the country.
After hearing the report, the Head of State highlighted the importance of the work of research institutes in diversifying agriculture and gave the vice-premier several specific instructions.
The meeting also noted that comprehensive scientific research is being carried out to increase soil fertility and test new varieties of crops within the framework of ongoing reforms. Modern equipment and technologies are widely used in this process. Reports were presented on the work of breeding specialists to develop high-yielding varieties adapted to the soil and climate conditions of Turkmenistan.
The Honorable President stressed the importance of ensuring high quality in scientific research on breeding and seed production and emphasized the need to study advanced global experience and modern agro-technical methods. The Head of State instructed that issues of improving the professional skills and experience of scientists should be kept under constant control.
Concluding the working meeting, the Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the participants strong health, family well-being, and great success in their work.
