Turkmenistan’s Bank Employees Competed for the Chess Cup

At Ashgabat’s specialized checkers school, the “Bank-2026” tournament was held for bank employees. Women winners: Güljahan Atbaşiýewa, Mähri Akmämmedowa, Jeren Muhammedowa. Men winners: Aşyrguly Geldiýew, Täçmyrat Berdiýew, Perman Öwezow.
The "Bank-2026" tournament was held among employees of the country’s financial sector at the Specialized Chess and Draughts School in Ashgabat. This sports event, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence, was jointly organized by the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and the "Rysgal" Joint-Stock Commercial Bank.
The intellectual competition, conducted in accordance with international standards, aimed to promote chess and strengthen corporate relations among institutional staff.
Tournament Results: Among the women, Guljahan Atbashiyeva ("Rysgal" JSCB) emerged as the winner. Second place went to Mahri Akmammedova, representing the State Commercial Bank of Turkmenistan, while Jeren Muhammedova from the Turkmen-Turkish Joint-Stock Commercial Bank took third place.
In the men's category:
- Gold Medal and Cup: Ashirguly Geldiyev (State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan).
- Silver Medal: Tachmyrat Berdiyev ("Rysgal" JSCB).
- Bronze Medal: Perman Ovezov (Turkmen-Turkish JSCB).
