Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to the U.S., Esen Aydogdyev, met in Washington with Assistant Secretary of State Paul Kapur. The sides discussed key areas of cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the United States, Esen Aydogdyev, held a meeting in Washington with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Paul Kapur. This was reported by the official website of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan.
During the talks held on May 1st at the U.S. Department of State building, priority areas of bilateral cooperation were discussed in detail. The diplomats focused on the following issues:
- Political and diplomatic relations between Ashgabat and Washington;
- Opportunities for developing key areas of partnership;
- Mutual readiness to further strengthen interstate ties.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed that the productive relations between the two countries would continue to expand and be enriched with new content in the future.
As a reminder, Esen Aydogdyev was appointed head of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan to the USA in March 2026. In early April, at a ceremony held at the "Blair House" official residence, the Ambassador presented copies of his credentials to the U.S. Chief of Protocol, Monica Crowley.
