An interactive seminar titled "Green Cities through the Eyes of Youth" was held at the State Architecture and Construction Institute of Turkmenistan, dedicated to the development of ecological culture and sustainable urban planning.
The event was organized within the framework of a joint project between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. This project, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), aims to develop an energy-efficient and sustainable construction sector in our country.
The seminar was attended by students from the country's leading higher education institutions, young ambassadors of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate activists, and international experts from the UN and the European Union (SECCA project).
Main Goals of the Event:
- Deepening the younger generation's understanding of environmental protection.
- Enhancing the leadership skills of young professionals in proposing sustainable urban solutions.
- Studying the importance of energy-saving technologies and "green" construction in modern urban development.
As emphasized during the discussions, this event was an important step in involving the youth of Turkmenistan in global climate initiatives. Participants exchanged views on the significant role ecological standards play in building modern cities.
This seminar once again proved the great interest and readiness of our country's young professionals to build a sustainable and ecologically clean future.
