The U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat announced the open competition for the 2026–2027 Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program. The program offers international teachers unique opportunities to enhance their professional skills, improve teaching methods, and expand knowledge about the United States.
Selected participants will take part in a six-week program in the U.S., starting in January or September 2027. This non-degree academic program includes training in teaching methodology, lesson planning, instructional strategies, and the use of computers and the internet as teaching tools.
The program is fully funded, covering TOEFL test fees, J-1 visa support, pre-departure orientation (PDO), round-trip airfare, accommodation, meals, health insurance, academic fees, and seminar participation.
Candidate requirements:
- At least 5 years of full-time teaching experience in secondary schools or language centers (English, foreign languages, journalism, communications, STEM, social studies, special education, or other local service institutions);
- Teaching students aged 12–18 (if teaching other levels, at least 50% of working time must be with middle/high school students);
- Commitment to continue teaching for at least 5 years after the program;
- Reside and work in Turkmenistan during application and program participation;
- Submit a complete application.
Application deadline for 2027 is February 15, 2026, 23:59.
