President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an online meeting on agriculture and regional development. Key topics included crop cultivation, cotton planting, food supply, and construction projects. Emphasis was placed on innovation and quality improvement.
Distinguished President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a digital working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev and the governors (hyakims) of the regions. The meeting focused primarily on the ongoing activities in the country's agricultural complex and key issues of socio-economic development in the regions.
As noted in the reports of the regional governors, maintenance work on wheat fields—specifically fertilization with mineral fertilizers and irrigation—is currently continuing in accordance with agrotechnical standards. Additionally:
- Cotton Sowing: The strategically important sowing season is being carried out according to plan, with special attention paid to the uninterrupted operation of machinery.
- Food Abundance: Maintenance work is proceeding at a high pace in areas planted with spring potatoes, vegetables, and melons.
- Sericulture: Silkworm breeders have been provided with silkworm eggs, and the stage of caring for the cocoons has begun.
- Fire Safety: Due to rising temperatures, plowing and clearing measures have been intensified to prevent fires in forest zones and agricultural fields.
During the meeting, the status of social, cultural, and industrial facilities being built in the regions under the "National Village Program" was also discussed. The governors of Lebap and Mary regions expressed their gratitude to the Head of State for the newly opened roads and the start of construction on new townships in their regions.
After hearing the reports, Distinguished President Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave several specific instructions:
- Quality Agriculture: He ordered the use of scientifically based methods in crop care and cotton sowing, and the completion of tasks within the established deadlines.
- Construction Oversight: He emphasized that the quality and deadlines of construction for facilities scheduled for commissioning this year must be kept under strict control.
- Innovative Approach: He noted the importance of introducing advanced practices and digital systems into the agricultural sector.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Head of State wished the participants great success in their work for the prosperity of the country and the well-being of the people.
