Kazakhstan plans to complete the construction of the Zhanaozen – Turkmenistan highway this year, which will become part of the transport corridor connecting the region with Russia.
Kazakhstan will finish the construction of the highway connecting the country with Turkmenistan this year. This was reported by the Kazakh website "Lsm," citing Kazakhstan's Minister of Transport, Nurlan Sauranbayev.
Minister N. Sauranbayev, discussing the "Turkmenistan — Russia" transport corridor, noted that this corridor includes the "Temir-Baba — border of the Russian Federation" section.
"Construction work is underway on the 'Zhanaozen — border of Turkmenistan' road section. At the same time, the development of a project for a feasibility study (FS) to expand the road to four lanes has begun. Construction on the current section will be completed within this year," the minister stated.
