Turkmen wrestlers took 1st place in the team ranking in Romania!
The international tournament named "Constantin Alexandru & Ioan Popovici," held in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, for athletes under the age of 17, has become a significant chapter in the history of Turkmen sports. In the wrestling competition held between April 16 and 19, our national team once again proved its mastery to the world.
The most intense moments of the competition occurred during the freestyle wrestling matches. Among strong wrestlers from 14 countries, the Turkmen athletes managed to outperform all their opponents in the team standings and secure first place. This achievement is a clear indicator of the high level of efforts being made to develop sports in our country.
Turkmen wrestlers won a total of 13 medals in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. The list of awards is as follows:
- 4 gold medals
- 6 silver medals
- 3 bronze medals
The young athletes who excelled in the competition emphasized that their success is the result of the consistent attention given to the sports system by Arkadagly Hero Serdar and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag.
