Ways to Intensify Cooperation Between Turkmenistan and the ILO Discussed

Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova met with the Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia of the International Labour Organization, Peter van Rooij. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and discussing the results of the 2024–2025 Roadmap as well as future plans.
The Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanova, met with the Regional Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Mr. Peter van Rooij, to discuss the modernization of labor legislation and the "Roadmap" plans for 2026.
Yesterday, the Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanova, met with the Regional Director of the International Labour Organization for Europe and Central Asia, Mr. Peter van Rooij.
During the meeting, directions for further intensifying multilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations, its specialized agencies, and the International Labour Organization were discussed. This was reported on the website of the Mejlis.
Views were also exchanged on the positive results of the work carried out within the framework of the "Roadmap" for cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the ILO for 2024-2025, as well as the activities planned in the "Roadmap" for 2026.
The Turkmen side presented the ongoing work to modernize labor legislation and legal acts related to human rights, social protection of children, and the population, based on accumulated experience and universally recognized international standards, as well as by integrating provisions of international treaties joined by Turkmenistan into national law.
Peter van Rooij highly praised the results of the work carried out in Turkmenistan in this field and shared his vision for cooperation in the near future.
