Turkmenistan and Georgia: New Horizons of Strategic Partnership and Friendly Relations

Turkmenistan–Georgia cooperation is reaching new horizons. A conference in Tbilisi highlighted scientific and cultural ties, transport and logistics projects, and the growth of strategic partnership.
On April 24, 2026, a "round table" meeting dedicated to the glorious 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence was held in the Magtymguly Pyragy auditorium of the Sokhumi State University in Tbilisi, Georgia. This event, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia, focused on the current state and future of scientific, cultural, political, and economic relations between the two countries.
The Rector of Sokhumi State University, Mrs. T. Jugheli, opened the meeting, noting the productive nature of educational cooperation:
- The strengthening of direct ties between universities and scientific centers boosts the humanitarian rapprochement of the two nations.
- Holding the event in an auditorium named after the great poet Magtymguly Pyragy is a sign of the Georgian people's high respect for Turkmen culture.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia, D. Seyitmammedov, highlighted the great achievements and socio-economic reforms of the country during the years of Independence. Participants discussed the strategic role of transit corridors connecting Asia and Europe through the Caspian and Black Seas, which elevates regional economic cooperation to a new level.
