Economic development opens new opportunities

Currently, comprehensive efforts are being implemented to diversify the national economy. In recent years, completed programs have enabled Turkmenistan to achieve significant successes, making a worthy contribution to maintaining economic stability and ensuring progress. Hundreds of production, social, and administrative facilities have been built. Key achievements during the years of independence include the creation of the national tourist zone «Awaza», the Turkmenistan — Uzbekistan — Kazakhstan — China and East — West gas pipelines, the North — South international railway, the Serhetabat — Turgundy and Kerki — Imam Nazar — Akina — Andhoy railways, automobile and railway bridges over the Amu Darya River, international airports in the capital and regions, the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, the «Altyn Asyr» lake, the Garlyk potash complex, the «Marykarbamid» and «Garabogazkarbamid» plants, the Gyýanly gas chemical complex, and the construction of power substations connecting all corners of the country into a single network. Among the strategic goals, the Arkadag “smart” city, built in the country’s most picturesque locations at the foot of the Kopetdag mountains, is of particular importance.
