🌱 A major step toward food abundance in 2026.
In the fertile spring of 2026, the foundation for a bountiful harvest of essential food crops such as potatoes and onions has been laid in the agricultural fields of the Lebap region. As a result of full compliance with agrotechnical standards in the region, crop growth is currently proceeding at a high level.
A total of 1,400 hectares of land across the region have been planted with potatoes, with a planned total yield of 19,600 tonnes. Farmers aim to achieve an average yield of 140 centners per hectare.
Plan by districts:
- Charjew district: 5,320 tonnes from 380 hectares;
- Danew district: 4,200 tonnes from 300 hectares;
- Sayat district: 2,800 tonnes from 200 hectares;
- Kerki district: 2,100 tonnes from 150 hectares.
Currently, activities such as irrigation, inter-row cultivation, and fertilization are in full swing in the fields.
This year, onions are being grown on 900 hectares in the eastern region, with a targeted productivity of 250 centners per hectare. The total production volume is expected to reach 22,500 tonnes.
Leading districts:
- Dowletli district: 6,500 tonnes from 260 hectares;
- Charjew district: 6,250 tonnes from 250 hectares.
The selection of high-yielding seeds resistant to local soil and climatic conditions during the planting season has ensured uniform sprouting across all fields.
