“My Skill – My Honor” contest held in Lebap province

The Lebap province stage of the “My Skill – My Honor” contest was successfully held. Winners of the preliminary round participated. The contest showcased women’s skills in handicrafts, sewing, and applied arts. Winners received awards and earned the right to compete in the national stage.
The Lebap province stage of the contest “My Skill – My Honor,” announced by the Central Council of the Women’s Union of Turkmenistan and the National Center of Trade Unions on the occasion of International Women’s Day, took place.
The contest was held at “Bagt Koshgy” in Türkmenabat and gathered dozens of talented women from across the province who won the preliminary round. The aim was to promote handicrafts, national patterns, sewing skills, showcase women’s expertise, and pass on knowledge to the younger generation.
Participants competed in three categories:
- Presenting the achievements of women in the era of the Great Revival, their engagement in labor, entrepreneurship, and handicrafts.
- Sewing a dress for a 6–7-year-old girl within 30 minutes, showcasing national patterns and design secrets.
- Demonstrating modern clothing inspired by ancient applied art and expressing national values through poetry, legends, and gazals.
Winners:
- 1st place — Shirin Salykhova (Garabekewul Children and Youth Center)
- 2nd place — Jeren Hojakuliyeva (School No.20, Farap District)
- 3rd place — Ogulsoltan Yarasheva (School No.32, Dänew District)
Winners received prizes from the organizers and earned the right to participate in the national stage of the contest.
