Cooperation in the Field of Education with UNICEF Discussed in Turkmenistan

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan between Minister J. Gurbangeldiyev and the Representative of UNICEF in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna. The parties discussed key areas of cooperation for 2026–2030, including early childhood development, inclusive education, the “Green School” initiative, and climate resilience in the education sector.
A meeting was held between the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, J. Gurbangeldiyev, and the Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna.
According to the official website of the Ministry, the parties discussed the main areas of bilateral cooperation for 2026–2030, including early childhood development, the development of inclusive education, as well as planned activities regarding climate resilience in the education system and disaster risk reduction.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the preparation of the National Strategy for Early Childhood Development, the implementation of a pilot program for primary school readiness in 55 schools across the country, the successful execution of the "Green School" joint program, and expanding the scope of ongoing pilot work in inclusive education.
Furthermore, the readiness of the relevant departments of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan to work in close coordination with UNICEF at all stages of implementing joint initiatives was confirmed.
