Yesterday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, who arrived in our country on a working visit. During the meeting, issues of raising economic relations between the two countries to a new qualitative level and intensifying interregional projects were discussed.
At the beginning of the talks, the guest expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings and best wishes to the people of Turkmenistan from Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in turn, returned warm greetings to the leadership of Georgia, emphasizing that this visit would be an important chapter in the history of bilateral relations.
The main goal of the strategic partnership with Georgia is the effective use of energy and industrial potential, as well as the development of modern transport and logistics corridors between Asia and Europe.
The Honorable President pointed out that the implementation of several large-scale projects of interregional importance, in particular initiatives such as "Caspian Sea — Black Sea," "Lapis Lazuli," and "Green Port," is beneficial not only for the two countries but for the entire continent.
Special assessment was given to the work of the Turkmen-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. It was noted that the next meeting of the commission, to be held during the guest's visit, would launch concrete agreements and new projects. The parties confirmed that there are great opportunities for bringing the two peoples closer together not only in the economic sphere but also in the cultural and humanitarian fields.
Turkmenistan and Georgia support each other not only bilaterally but also within the framework of the UN and other international organizations. This is clear evidence of mutual trust and equality.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that friendly relations would continue to develop consistently for the prosperity of the peoples of both countries.
