"Turkmenpagta" State Concern and provincial administrations instructed to produce 2,100 tons of raw silk cocoons in 2026

The President of Turkmenistan signed a decree. «Türkmenpagta» and provincial administrations are tasked with producing 2,100 tons of raw silk in 2026. Farmers’ unions will be supplied with high-quality silk seeds, and contract obligations will be fully ensured.
In order to successfully implement the tasks set for the development of the silk industry in Turkmenistan, as well as to increase the volume and improve the quality of cocoon production, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree. According to the document, the "Turkmenpagta" State Concern and the provincial administrations (hakimliks) are instructed to ensure the production of 2,100 tons of raw silk cocoons in 2026.
The "Turkmenpagta" State Concern is designated to conclude master agreements with provincial administrations for cocoon production and to provide farmers' associations, agricultural enterprises, private farms, tenants, and landowners with the necessary amount of high-quality silkworm eggs. Provincial administrations were instructed to ensure the full fulfillment of contractual obligations for cocoon production.
The relevant Decree was signed during the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on February 13, dedicated to the results of 2025. This was reported by the TDH agency.
