China has installed the world’s first 20 MW offshore wind turbine, capable of supplying power to tens of thousands of homes.
China has successfully installed the world’s first offshore wind turbine with a capacity of 20 megawatts in the coastal waters of Fujian Province. The project marks a major milestone in the development of offshore renewable energy.
The turbine features three 147-meter blades and is capable of generating around 80 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, enough to power approximately 40,000 households.
