Immunization is a key guarantee of a healthy society and a safer future. In Turkmenistan, European Immunization Week highlights the importance of vaccines in preventing infectious diseases and protecting children’s health.
Within the framework of the "Saglyk" State Program implemented in Turkmenistan, protecting public health and preventing infectious diseases is one of the priorities of state policy. In this regard, special importance is attached to immunization measures as the most effective and reliable tool.
At the end of April each year, the European Immunization Week is held in our country at the initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO). This noble tradition, which has continued since 2005, is aimed at:
- Increasing the medical literacy of the population;
- Raising public awareness about the benefits of vaccines;
- Preventing the spread of diseases.
Vaccines play a major role in protecting not only individual but also collective (population) health. Their main benefits include:
- Stable immunity: Vaccines build the body's resistance against serious diseases and strengthen the immune system.
- Epidemiological well-being: Through mass vaccination, the spread of severe infectious diseases can be completely halted.
- Caring for children: By explaining the importance of vaccines to parents and guardians, the healthy growth of the future generation is ensured.
The Health Information Center of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, together with international organizations and the media, regularly organizes consultations and meetings. These measures scientifically prove that vaccines are safe and are the most reliable method of combating diseases in global medicine.
