On April 7, a telephone conversation was held between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko. New Horizons of Cultural and Humanitarian Ties
The National Leader noted the importance of preserving the shared historical heritage. To bring cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science, education, and art to a new level, attention was drawn to the following projects:
- Work on the establishment of the Turkmen-Russian University.
- Construction of a new building for the A.S. Pushkin Drama Theatre in Ashgabat.
- Immortalizing Great Personalities: The installation of a monument to Magtymguly Pyragy in Russia, and monuments to A.S. Pushkin and F.M. Dostoevsky in Turkmenistan, serve as symbols of the spiritual closeness of the two nations.
