3 million tree saplings are planned to be planted in Turkmenistan in 2026

The President of Turkmenistan signed a decree. In 2026, fruit orchards and vineyards will be planted:
Ministries, agencies, Ashgabat and Arkadag city administrations: 1.5 million seedlings.
Provincial administrations: 1.5 million seedlings.
Seedlings will be planted in designated areas, watered by drip irrigation, and proper care will be ensured.
In order to turn Turkmenistan into a blooming garden and further enrich its beautiful nature, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree. According to the document, in 2026, the planting of deciduous, coniferous, fruit trees, and grapes shall be ensured in Turkmenistan, including:
- 1.5 million saplings by ministries, sectoral departments, the administrations of Ashgabat and Arkadag cities, and other institutions;
- 1.5 million saplings by provincial administrations (hakimliks).
Ministries, sectoral departments, administrations of provinces, Ashgabat and Arkadag cities, and other institutions are instructed to ensure the planting of fruit trees and grape saplings by species in specially designated areas, as well as to ensure the irrigation of the planted deciduous, coniferous, fruit trees, and grape saplings using the drip irrigation method.
Furthermore, the document instructs the Ministry of Environmental Protection to provide ministries, sectoral departments, provincial and city administrations, and other institutions with a sufficient quantity of grape and 3-year-old tree saplings, as well as to supervise their planting and care.
The relevant Decree was signed during the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on February 13, dedicated to the results of 2025. This was reported by the TDH agency.
